Belarusian Student Association
The Belarusian Student Association (BSA) is an independent organization that represents the interests of Belarusian students, advocates for their rights, and promotes academic freedom and democratic values. Founded in opposition to the authoritarian policies in Belarus, the BSA has been an active voice in defending students, scholars, and human rights activists from state repression.
Marfa Rabkova’s connection to the BSA is deeply symbolic of the organisation’s mission. As a human rights defender and a coordinator of the Volunteer Service for Viasna Human Rights Center, Marfa worked closely with young activists and students, training volunteers to document human rights violations during Belarusian protests. Her arrest and imprisonment exemplify the dangers faced by students and young activists who challenge authoritarian regimes.
